[edit] Dansk Mills
Most Dansk Designs peppermills were designed by Jens Harald Quistgaard out of Siamese or Burmese teak. The majority of these pepper grinders were made in Denmark by the Danish firm Nissen. A few (notably "Pepperbot") are made from smaller pieces of teak glued together. Quistgaard called these mills "staved teak", in reference to the construction of barrels. Today this process is more commonly known as laminating. Teak is a naturally oily wood, it was only though the development of special adhesives that the staving process became possible.
The Dansk pepper mills below are identified by their three digit (or, later, a four digit) catalog number, if it is known. I try to name each mill based on what it reminds me of. After all, there are 70+ designs, so something is needed to make them easier to identify!
