Style 824 is the name for one of the most common mills produced by Dansk. From the variation of details available, it was produced consistently across all manufacturing locations. Before the official name was known, my sister named this style "Pepperbot" because it looks like a small robot she says it says "pepper is my blood."
Variations
- Early versions have 7 salt holes arranged in a circle (no center hole), and have an early make Peugeot grinder.
- When the Peugeot grinding mechanism was phased out, the edges became less sharp (had a larger radius/were more rounded).
- Later versions made in Thailand and Malaysia are not staved, but are instead made out of a solid piece of teak. The 6 salt holes are kept, but they're moved much closer to the center of the piece.
